Dorrline D. Franklin
Dorrline D. Franklin, 50, of East Orange died Feb. 25. Ms. Franklin
is survived by her children, Deon Robinson and Aaron Franklin;
three siblings, Zena and Cheryl Franklin and John T. Branch; her
stepmother, Ester Branch, and two grandchildren.
Grace G. Evans
Grace G. Evans, 87, of East Orange died March 1 in the Care One
Rehabilitation Center, Livingston. Mrs. Evans taught preschool
children in the Newark school system for more than 20 years. She is
survived by her son, Clarence Ricks; six grandchildren, and seven
great-grandchildren.
Charles Lee III
Charles Lee III of East Orange died Feb. 27. Mr. Lee is survived by
his child, Nasiem; his parents, Evangelist Yolanda Lee and Scott
Wright; his grandfather, Claude Elam. and two siblings, Shakir and
Shante..
Althea Giles
Althea Giles, 83, of West Orange died Feb. 26. Born in Orange, she
was educated in the East Orange school system and earned a degree
from New Jersey State Teachers College, now The College of New
Jersey in Ewing Township. Mrs. Giles was a second grade teacher in
the East Orange school system. She was active in fundraising for
the United Negro College Fund and was on the boards of Kean
University Foundation, and the Newark Art Museum, as well as a
member of Essex County Links. Mrs. Giles is survived by husband,
William; three children, William, Sharon and Kevin; two sisters,
Winifred Wilson and Lena East, and seven grandchildren.
Margie Palin-Banks
Margie Wyonia Mae Palin-Banks, 82, of East Orange died March 1 at
home. Mrs. Palin-Banks was predeceased by her husband, Alphonso.
She is survived by her brother, Thomas.
Ronald J. Clark
Ronald J. Clark, 69, of East Orange died March 2. Mr. Clark is
survived by his family and friends.
