EOCHS girls' hoops advance to State sectional final
Delisha Thompson scored 17 points and Ava Burke added 11 points to spark the 11th-seeded East Orange Campus High School girls' basketball team to a 47-41 win over No. 7 seed Randolph in the semifinals of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 4 tournament on March 6 in Randolph.
The teams were members of the Iron Hills Conference that was disbanded at the end of the 2008-09 school year. The Jaguars competed in the inaugural Super Essex Conference this season.
The Jaguars improved to 17-10 and will face fifth-seeded Montclair in the final on March 8 in a matchup of SEC teams.
