The Orange High School girls’ varsity basketball team defeated Cedar Grove in overtime before losing to Summit.
Aquiyah Williams had 15 points, seven steals, six rebounds and three assists and Ruth Adams had nine points, 12 rebounds and two steals to lead OHS to a 41-34 overtime win over Cedar Grove on Jan. 12.
The Tornadoes outscored Cedar Grove, 10-4, in the fourth quarter to force overtime. OHS dominated overtime, outscoring Cedar Grove, 8-1.
Esther Adams had four points, six rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks and Alaska King had 10 rebounds, five blocks and two steals for the Tornadoes.
OHS then fell to Summit, 48-43, on Sunday Jan. 15 at Shabazz in Newark. Shereeka Russell had 15 points and Esther Adams and Williams each had 12 points.
